How I’m Setting Aligned Goals for 2026
My personal framework for calm, aligned goal-setting
Have you ever set goals that looked great on paper, but something felt off?
I’ve set many goals over the years, some felt easy and others felt incredibly hard.
And this had nothing to do with laziness or a lack of discipline.
I used to write a long list of goals and it was all over the place 👀
It had everything to do with setting misaligned goals.
What do aligned goals mean?
Aligned goals are goals that match the season you’re currently in.
They reflect your:
values
energy
capacity
and, most importantly your nervous system
These goals aren’t based on external pressure like - family expectations, social media, or comparing yourself to others.
It’s okay to want big things and dream big - like wanting a Porsche or a mansion but the question is:
Do these goals match the season of life you’re in right now?
Aligned goals should make you feel calm, grounded, and supported - not stressed out or dysregulated.
Signs your goals are misaligned
You constantly need motivation to keep going
You feel drained just thinking about the goal
You’re doing it for validation
You intuitively know the goal isn’t for you
You keep changing or abandoning it
Signs your goals are aligned
You feel excited to begin
You take steps naturally
You trust yourself to move forward
It may feel challenging, but it feels meaningful
You genuinely want to see it through
Why alignment matters more than discipline
Discipline is useful but it shouldn’t replace self-trust.
When goals come from your intuition and your heart space, discipline becomes lighter and more natural.
When I set misaligned goals, I felt stressed and burned out most of the time and I knew these goals were not for me.
When my goals were aligned, things felt calmer and I showed up consistently without forcing myself or feeling depleted.
My step-by-step routine for setting aligned goals
1. Audit your 2025
Reflect honestly and gently (no judgement):
What did I achieve?
What did I learn?
What was I proud of?
What would I do differently?
What didn’t feel good?
What felt unfinished or unresolved?
What challenges did I overcome?
What felt misaligned?
2. Choose a word or feeling for 2026
This sets the tone for the year.
Choose one:
Adventure
Aligned
Excitement
Expansion
Freedom
Ease
Confidence
Abundance
Joy
Trust
Don’t overthink it just choose the word that pulls you - or you can come up with your own word.
3. Choose your life buckets
Pick 3–4 to focus on for Q1.
Family
Career
Faith
Spirituality
Life purpose
Love
Self-care
Finances
Relationships
Business
Personal development
Social life
Community
Home life
Mental health
4. Define your new identity
Who is the woman entering 2026?
Ask yourself:
How does she dress?
How does she speak to herself?
What routines does she have?
What hobbies does she enjoy?
What are her priorities?
How does she handle stress?
Is she aligned with her purpose?
How does she work on her mindset?
This identity becomes your compass.
5. Create your aligned action plan
Now turn intention into action.
Example:
Life Bucket: Personal Development
Establish a morning and evening routine
Join one course
Read one book
Small, sustainable steps are the goal.
Do this for each of your life bucket.
I would love to hear your goals for 2026, feel free to share below ⬇️
6. Create your vision board
This helps you stay connected to your intentions.
You can:
Create a digital vision board on Canva and use it as your screensaver
Or make a physical board by printing images from Pinterest
Once your Q1 goals are set, add them to your calendar, Notion Board or journal.
You can repeat this process for Q2, Q3 and Q4.
Remember, nothing is set in stone, if something doesn’t feel right, you’re allowed to realign and change it.
The purpose of this framework isn’t perfection.
It’s setting goals from the heart🤍 We’re not creating random goals here.
Now, you have a blue print based on what you actually desire WITHOUT the outside noise. You should feel calm and exited for what’s to come for 2026!
See you in the next one

Best year end article on goals I have encountered thus far! I will be passing this along. Your alignment needs are spot on for leaders. Thanks!
Alignment is everything. Misaligned goals are so counterproductive and just lead to self condemnation. When your goals align with your hierarchy of values it’s almost impossible to not meet them!
